چکیده

A fundamental component of the Global Positioning System is the calculation of a highly accurate predicted orbit for each of the constellation spacecraft on a regular basis. In general, the parameters used to describe these orbits are not stable and need to be constantly updated. Being able to predict changes, and also being able to calculate the orbit after the fact, relies upon a combination of range observations and force modeling. A whole range of different forces, with varying magnitudes, act on the GPS satellites. Table 1 lists these forces in decreasing order of magnitude along with crude estimates of the accelerations they cause. There are also many smaller forces, such as drag effects, that are too small to worry about for current techniques. While the modeling of gravitational forces is well understood, the following forces Modeling Photon Pressure The Key To High-Precision GPS Satellite Orbits

Feasibility of Managing a Dynamic Constellation to a Fixed Constellation Definition

The GPS satellite constellation is dynamic. Earth gravitational forces cause orbits to vary, and solar and lunar gravitational forces produce out-of-plane perturbations. Launch dispersions often result in orbits that are not nominal. Even the number of satellites in the constellation can vary over time given anticipated and actual satellite failures and routine maintenance. The GPS satellite co...

Iranian Permanent GPS Network Receivers Differential Code Biases Estimation Using Global Ionospheric Maps

Measurements of the dual frequency Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers can be used to calculate the electron density and the total electron content (TEC) of the ionosphere layer of the Earth atmosphere. TEC is a key parameter for investigating the ongoing spatial and temporal physical process of the ionosphere. For accurate estimation of TEC from GPS measurements, GPS satellites and GPS r...

Comparing Long Baseline Results from GPS and GPS/GLONASS

Abstract: The availability of GLONASS would bring significant benefits to geodetic applications of global positioning systems. GPS and GLONASS observations could be combined directly in the data processing; as a result, the geometry of observed satellites could be enhanced by increasing the number of available satellites. Up to now, with the recent revitalization of GLONASS, more high precision...

BDS Precise Point Positioning for Seismic Displacements Monitoring: Benefit from the High-Rate Satellite Clock Corrections

In order to satisfy the requirement of high-rate high-precision applications, 1 Hz BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) satellite clock corrections are generated based on precise orbit products, and the quality of the generated clock products is assessed by comparing with those from the other analysis centers. The comparisons show that the root mean square (RMS) of clock errors of geostatio...
